The Real "27 Dresses"...

Okay. So the guys I work with actually tease me almost every week when we say to each other on Fridays, "Any plans for the weekend?". That's the typical line of questioning for everyone else. But the guys usually ask me, "Another wedding to go to?".

I am the real life woman in the "27 Dresses" movie. It's true. I love weddings. But I've been to about 5 million of them. I have helped plan about half a dozen of them. I've thrown somewhere between 10-15 bridal showers. I've done doubler-headers (yep, 2 in 1 day). I've done flowers, done hair, painted nails, assisted photographers, taken video, served food, cut cake, done set-up, done clean-up, heck - I've even held up the dress while the bride pees. It's all true. And I've done it. Yet... I still love going to weddings (although I hate going alone, which is usually the case. But my love life is another blog topic altogether). It's just so great to be there to witness someone's special day. And I love flowers. And I love cheesy romantic music. And I love cake! So... bring on the weddings. :)

Last night I went to the reception for Ryan & Brandi Wooden. Ryan's sister, Rachael, is one of my best friends. The event was fabulous. It was a perfect summer night. Here are a few pics:

Berkeley Reunion

The other fabulous part of Stacy's wedding, which was up at the Oakland Temple, was I got to see old friends from the Berkeley University Ward. It was like a little reunion. I hadn't seen some of these fabulous ladies since before my mission (6 years ago!). And let me tell you... these ladies are amazing & brilliant & talented! It was so fun to reconnect & reminisce...

Joy

Okay... bare with me for a minute while I wax philosophical. But for me, the difference between happiness and joy is this: Happiness is a state of mind. It's an attitude. It's a choice. Waking up & thinking, "I'm going to be happy". Being generally cheerful or content. It's the mental part of the goodness we call happiness.

And on the other hand, Joy is a state of heart. It's when your heart smiles & feels warm. It's deeper and longer lasting. Everyone teases me for saying "bursting of joy". But it's kindof that feeling of your heart expanding. I'm not sure I can explain it. But those are my thoughts.

Well... let me share the JOY I felt thanks to my sweet friend Stacy. Stacy met Rob and within 2 months they were engaged. They are truly a match made in heaven. It was a long road for them to find each other... but the joy is overwhelming. Here are some pics of their special day:

A Wicked Good Time...

So this week we had a girls night out to see the musical Wicked at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood. Liza was in town & she hadn't seen it yet. Neither had Domi. So off we went. It was my 4th time seeing it & guess what? Still love it!! So if any of you out there haven't seen it, I highly recommend it!

Liza's New Baby...

Tonight I went to play with my dear friend Liza, who is in town for the holiday weekend. She rolled up with her new boy toy... Mr. Mini Coop. I couldn't picture a more perfect car for someone... Liza & the mini were meant for each other! The only downside of the night?? Liza has turned into a Utah driver! Ahhh! :)
